Nengher N. Vang brings a rich blend of academic expertise and cultural understanding to his role as Principal and Co-owner of The Mekong. With a Ph.D. in history from the University of Minnesota, Nengher has dedicated much of his career to exploring and teaching about the history and culture of the Hmong people. His journey from a refugee fleeing persecution in Laos to becoming a respected academic and business owner is a testament to his resilience and commitment to his community. Nengher's deep knowledge of Southeast Asian history and traditions informs every aspect of The Mekong, from the authentic dishes served to the culturally sensitive services offered.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Nengher is passionate about creating spaces that honor and celebrate the cultural heritage of Southeast Asian communities.
